Dr. Herbert T. Walker, III, CEO of Walker Funeral Home, is a licensed embalmer, funeral director, and community volunteer. A dedicated servant to the tristate area, Dr. Walker lll, is committed to supporting the positive development of every community Walker Funeral Home serves. He embraces his father’s motto: “Seize upon every opportunity to contribute to the happiness of those around you.”
As CEO of Walker Funeral Home, the largest African American-owned funeral business in southwest Ohio, Herbert provides compassionate support to families by assisting with the selection and design of funeral and memorial services, burial services, cremation options, celebrant services, and veteran honors.
Dr. Walker lll, actively participates in and supports numerous community organizations. Walker Funeral Home regularly contributes to initiatives such as the Black Family Reunion, elementary school career days, the “Rock the Block” community impact program, Breakfast with Santa, and the “Day of Blessing” collaboration. Additionally, the funeral home is a member of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and The Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Walker lll, is also a member of professional organizations, including the National Funeral Directors Association, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, the Greater Cincinnati Funeral Directors Association (where he is a past president), the International Order of the Golden Rule, and the Academy of Certified Funeral Service Professionals (CFSP).
Dr. Walker lll, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University, a Master of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Business Administration from N.U.Medical Science, and a Doctor of Science in Mortuary Science from the National Academy of Mortuary Science.
