James Lee Gowans

Loving father and husband James L. Gowans (Jim), age 76, of Springdale, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was born December 24, 1943 in Dayton, OH.   Jim served in the Air Force Strategic Air Command and was honorably discharged in 1967, and continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves through June, 1969.  Jim is survived by his wife Suzanne of 51 years, 3 Children (Eric, Doug and Holly), 11 Grandchildren (Josh, Daniel, Abby, Ashley, Alex, Jared, Jamie, Jeffrey, Grant, Lake, and Hadley), 4 Great Grandchildren (Carter, Mayne, Cameron and RaeLynn), and 5 Siblings (Bill, Tom, John, Pam and Tami).  He is preceded in death by his Father (Morris), Mother (Elsie), Step-Father (Jack) and sister (Cindy).  Jim retired in 2014 after 25 years of service to Pomeroy Computer Resources (Hebron, KY).  He enjoyed fishing, antiquing, home improvements, and his hometown teams the Cincinnati Reds & Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.  He valued long time relationships of good friends the Hornung’s and Langford’s and always appreciated a good neighbor.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandkids and great-grandkids and watching them grow!

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:30 am, on  Monday, June 8, 2020, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:30 am.

Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 11825 Pippin Road, Colerain Township, Ohio 45231.
