Vernessa "Sally" Houston was born January 23, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio at General Hospital, to the late Magnolia Williams and Thomas Boyd, she was raised by the late Belzola Williams. She attended Evanston elementary and Graduated from Withrow High School. Vernessa also attended University of Cincinnati where she majored in Communications.
Sally was known for her sense of humor and infectious laugh. She was loved by almost anyone who met her and she will always be remembered for being the Cool Mom/Auntie, if she had a place you had a place.
She is proceeded in death by her late husband Val Gene Avery, Her brother Morris "Little One" Houston, Sister Stephanie Houston and Cousin/Sister Edwinetta "Tippy" Jones.
She leaves behind her six children Vernessika Houston, Veia-Nova Avery (Damon), Whaheed Rahman, Rasheed Houston, Valicia "Monique" Houston (Bryant) and Jordan "Shaheed" Jennings. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Gregory, VeAjah, Jaylyn, Destiny,Divine,Veda, Yahsere, Mia, Yosiah, Journie and a host of brothers, neices, nephew's and cousins.
Memorial service is from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Philippian Baptist Church, 1806 Brewster Avenue, Cincinnati, 45207.
