Telvin Kellam Maxwell was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 13th, 1956 to the parents of Geraldine Kellam and Melvin Kenny (who both preceded her in death). She fell asleep in Jesus on Tuesday, July 7th, in the year of our Lord 2020.
Telvin attended Cincinnati Public Schools for her early education. She continued her education at the University of Cincinnati where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in social work. Telvin had ten years devoted in the Cincinnati Public School systems. There she passionately worked with children.
Telvin was all about family, she loved her family. Telvin was best known for taking pictures, dancing, and always having a story to tell. She was so full of love, life and joy. Telvin suffered in pain with Sickle Cell disease all her life but no one would have ever known because she never complained. Although she is gone, she will never be forgotten.
Telvin became Mrs. James Maxwell in 1983 after marrying her long-time sweetheart who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Kenny Jr.
She leaves to cherish their only child,Jamaul Maxwell; three granddaughters, Ja'myah, Ja'mari and Ja'mela; She was the oldest of nine siblings, Raymond Keliam (Renita), Valencia Kellam, Toni George (Wallace), Tina Kellam, Charles Kellam (Kathy), Schifona Kenny, Eddie Kenny (EW), and Melvin Kenny; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
