Steven  Proctor 
May 26, 1968 - September 10, 2023

Steven B. Proctor was born in Chicago, Illinois May 26, 1968, to the union of James Lee Proctor II and Mae Francis Proctor. Steve graduated from Caldwell Elementary and South Shore High School; he also attended Southern Illinois College. 

Steve had such a caring and giving heart. He loved to fish, barbecue, and gather amongst family and friends. He was considered the life of the party. Steve loved music and in high school, he was a band member that played his favorite instrument the Tuba.  

At an early age, Steve was a dedicated employee at Stony Island Food Market, then continued his employment journey with Sundstrom Press Steel Company in Chicago, Illinois for 20 years.  Steven’s final place of employment as a dedicated employee was with LSI in Cincinnati, OH from 2018 until his health suddenly declined in July 2023. 

Steve moved to Cincinnati, OH with his special friend Adrienne Jackson in 2017.  Steven was baptized at The Call Worship Center in 2019 under the leadership of Pastor Curtis Staples in Cincinnati, OH. Steve had faith, was hopeful, and demonstrated strength throughout his short-lived journey with his recent diagnosis. 

Steve departed this life suddenly on Sunday, September 10, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Francis Proctor. Steven leaves to cherish memories: his father James Lee Proctor Jr.;  three brothers: James Lee Proctor, II (Winnie Joy), Jonathan Williams, and DiShawn Proctor; sister, Justine Proctor; a special friend Adrienne Jackson, his best friend/brother since childhood, Lawrence Littlejohn (Corretta Littlejohn); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him.  

Visitation is from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on  Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the Walker Funerals and Cremations, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy  (45231).
