Pamela Schamer Obituary

Pamela  Schamer
February 20, 1951 - May 22, 2023

Pamela Schamer, a devoted mother, compassionate advocate, and a source of unwavering support, passed away on May 22, 2023. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 20, 1951, the daughter of John and Christine Singleton. Pamela led a remarkable life filled with love, kindness, and selfless service to others.  Pamela's journey was one defined by her love for her children and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around her.  She earned her Paralegal Degree and real estate license, showcasing her dedication to personal growth and professional achievement.  However, her true passion lay in helping others and finding solace with her family and pets.  With an unyielding love for animals, Pamela found joy in fostering and rescuing countless dogs and cats throughout her life.  Her home was a haven for these furry companions and the bond she shared with them was truly heartwarming.

In 1990, Pamela's remarkable devotion to teenagers with addiction and behavioral issues led to her being awarded the esteemed title of Kentucky colonel.  This highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky, recognized her tireless efforts in opening up her home to foster and guide these young individuals.  Pamela's ability to provide a nurturing environment, combined with her unwavering support, touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on their journey to recovery.

Beyond her professional achievements and selfless acts of kindness, Pamela will be remembered for her warm heart and loving spirit.  Her infectious laughter and genuine smile brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.  She leaves behind cherished memories of family gatherings, adventures in nature, and moments of solace shared with her beloved pets.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pamela is survived by her children, Angela (William Clay) Willmott of Edgewood, Kentucky and David (Chere) Christopher of Florence, Kentucky; grandchildren, Hannah and Ashley Willmott of Edgewood, Kentucky; brothers, Steve Singleton of Port Orange, Florida and John Singleton of Cincinnati, Ohio who were blessed to have such a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, or friend.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

In honoring Pamela's memory, let us carry forward her legacy of compassion, selflessness, and unwavering support for those in need.
