Leslie Jordan Obituary

Leslie Dwight Jordan, “Les”, son of Willa Mae Cobb and the late Arthur Jordan, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 25, 1957. He departed this life on March 7, 2021, at The Christ Hospital.

Les, the middle child of seven, often found himself in the middle of something-- God doesn’t make any mistakes. Les always had something to say, one of the many things we loved about him. Les attended Withrow High School, then found his way to Cincinnati Milacron. Where he was a machinist for over 31 years. He was proud of the fact that he was only late once after having to fix a flat, and still was only four minutes late. He often said he had way too much fun at work. Well, I guess so – he worked with friends that turned into part of his family and Les loved his family. He met friends/brothers at Milacron that he loved all of his life.

Les was a loveable grouch; his sense of humor was silly and grumpy, sweet and mean, he showed tough love but was the biggest softy all at the same time, especially when it came to his girls; he was putty in their hands. He would serenade his girls by singing the Isley Brothers, which now they listen to all the time. That was our Les. He loved God, family, Gospel & Jazz music, and good food. When Les and his mom were in better health, they would talk almost daily. He would tease her and dog her out about her favorite team (the Cincinnati Reds) and they would laugh. Alabama Fish Barn was one of his favorite places, His sister would order and have it delivered by brother-in-law express. He enjoyed going to the Fraze Pavilion to listen to Jazz with his brothers and sisters-in-law. His favorite was at a cousin’s house with his brothers. Whenever his sister or sister-in-law was cooking, he made it a priority to get some of that good food. If a niece or a nephew turned up in town, he may not let them in. Les was known to tease about the Bengals’ losing streak to family and friends all day; that was their uncle, son, brother, my Les. We had over 30 beautiful years together, but now I must let him go.

My husband enjoyed his life with us and he fought so hard to stay, but the Father does what’s best for us and took him home to stay.

So, breathe in the Father deeply, my love, hold on tight, and never let Him go. Les, you’re freed from pain, you’re freed from chains, you are free indeed.

Leslie was preceded in death by his father: Arthur Jordan, his two brothers: Leon Jordan (Chandra), Leonard Cobb Jordan (Gerry).

Les leaves to cherish his precious memory: his wife: Natalie; mother, Willa Mae Cobb; daughters: Lesley Jordan Campbell (Joseph); Brittney Jordan; siblings: Alberta Harris (Manny), Thomas Jordan, Anthony Jordan, Barry Cobb (Nikole); grandchildren: Brooke, Breana, Makayla, Maliyah, Jalen and Josie; a host of nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
