Kenneth “Scotty” Scott was born on January 28, 1943, the sixth of eleven children, to the union of Harvey E. Scott and Irene McGill Scott in Lebanon, Ohio.
Kenneth was also affectionately known by his family and friends as “Scotty,” “Kenny,” and “Lumpy.” He was a professional truck driver for over 50 years with companies such as Roadway Express, J & A Son Trucking, Tobico, and Royal Motor Express.
Scotty accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Bethel A.M.E Church in Lebanon, OH and was a member until he moved from Lebanon, OH.
Scotty was inducted into the U.S. Army on July 12, 1962, serving as a Sharpshooter, until he was honorably discharged on June 26, 1964.
Scotty also joined Toussaint #19 Lodge in Hamilton, OH. Scotty enjoyed cracking jokes with friends and family whether they liked it or not. He enjoyed watching old country/western movies and hanging out at his favorite Pubs--Cruise Inn, The Office, Queen Anne, Good Brothers, No Name, and Grown Folks, just to name a few.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Eugene Scott, Beatrice “Lindy” Scott, Charles Scott, Darius Scott and Gary Lee Scott.
Kenneth departed this life on September 16, 2021 after a long illness.
Scotty’s memories will forever be cherished by: his devoted wife, Myra “Bunny” Scott; his children, Aaron (Nicole) Scott, Greg (Kim) Scott, Cheryl (Aaron) Jones, and Billie Jean Hargrove; his siblings, Marjorie (Robert) Day of Dallas, TX, Kathleen (Nathaniel) Burden of Columbus, OH, Benjamin Scott and Richard Scott of Lebanon, OH, and Rhoda “Bootsie” Morgan of Fairfield, OH, his four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation is from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
In keeping with CDC Covid19 Guidelines, we encourage those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask.
