Dyrah Chanell Thomas

Loving mother, a caring friend, sweet sister, cousin, and niece, Dyrah Thomas was a beautiful soul. Also known affectionately as "Girly", departed from this world on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at the age of 33. She was born to Diana Thomas on June 26, 1987. Proudly following her mother's footsteps and determined to succeed Dyrah graduated, a year early from Taft High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Dyrah was well known for having a kind and giving heart, a love for adventure and travel, and her spicy yet lovable personality.

It was said that she had a special gift for "making a way out of no way". She was so much to so many but the role that she was most honored to have was that of Mother.  She is now an Ancestor, watching over her beloved children: De'Airis E.C. Thomas, Da'Miyah D.R. Thomas, and DeAna E. S. Thomas. She's walking beside them in Spirit always.As a child, Dyrah was bold, colorful (literally), and melted hearts when she entered the room. This carried over into her young adult life and fueled her decision to go to Chicago to audition for the BET video show 106 & Park.  Later on in life, she enrolled in the Ohio School for Broadcasting to explore becoming an on-air personality. She was a people person who loved to work in the health care field as a phlebotomist and in the hospitality field as a server. More recently, as a Public Ally, she served at Youth at the Center as the Youth Engagement Coordinator. Dyrah took pride in building bridges and helping to give the youth of Cincinnati a platform to be heard and engaged. One of Dyrah's goals was to become a motivational speaker to inspire teenage mothers and young parents to follow their dreams.

Dyrah is now resting with her mother Diana Thomas, her beloved friend De'Marco Conley and leaves to cherish her memories, her siblings, Daphney Thomas, Eugene Thomas, Elijah Thomas, Emmanuel Thomas, Elias Heard, Eugene Thomas, and Elim Thomas. In addition, she leaves a host of Aunts: Leida, Carolyn, Cathy & Maria Brown;  uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, Sister-cousin LaKisha Brown, Sistahfriends: Chrystal Rector, Tierra Marshall-Thomas, Ashlei McGuire, Ester Wright, Jessica Mullins & Jana McGuire; Best Friends, friends, and colleagues to celebrate her life.

Dyrah was and still is loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter  the service and social distancing must be practiced.  Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
