Dallis  Jones 
November 23, 1945 - September 25, 2022

Dallis Jones was born November 23, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio and passed away at Wellspring Health Center Nursing Home on September 25, 2022 in Cincinnati. Dallis was the only child born to Fred and Arnetta Jones. 

Dallis grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools. He later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1973 where he served seven years as a marksman before his Honorable Discharge in 1980.

Dallis married Iris Collins in 1977 and three children were born to this union - Dallis, Jr., Scott Alexander and he gained a bonus-daughter, Dorothy, which he adopted. The couple was later divorced.

Dallis pursued a career with the United States Postal Service. During this time, he met Dorothy Laws and the couple were married in 1988, where Dallis gained another bonus-daughter, Alice Laws. After working for the company for over 15 years, Dallis retired from the United States Postal Service.

Dallis was a calm and quiet-spirited man, with a great big heart. He would help just about anybody who needed him. His sisters remember him often asking the question, “You need a piece of change?” And if you needed it, Dallis would most likely help you out. Because that’s just the kind of man he was.

Dallis was preceded in death by: his parents Fred and Arnetta Jones, and sisters Mary Marie Harris and Arnetta Harris.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife Dorothy Jones, sons; Dallis Jr. and Scott Alexander, daughters; Dorothy Jones and Alice Laws, 22 grandchildren. 45 great -grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, brothers; Charles Coleman and Robert Jackson, sisters; Brenda Jackson, Alphelia Smith, Dorothy Brooks, Rebecca Hogan (Dwayne), and Nanetta Jackson, sisters-in-laws; Queenie Gardner and Thelma Coleman, aunts; Roberta Easterling (surrogate mother), Anna Swain and Ellen Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati  (45229).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. 

Interment will follow on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
