Carolyn Ann
(Johnson) Martin
January 17, 1957 – February 1, 2026
Carolyn Ann (Johnson) Martin, born on January 17, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 1, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Slyvia Johnson and Leonard Johnson, her beloved grandson DeAndre Johnson, and her two brothers, William Toler and James Johnson.
Carolyn attended Hughes High School and spent her life rooted in Cincinnati, where she built strong family bonds and lasting memories. She was the loving mother of Trina Johnson and Charlene Johnson, and a devoted grandmother to Jameshia Johnson, Domico Johnson, Sasha Johnson, Dominique Johnson, Darius Johnson, Danielle Casey, Tremond Casey, and Justin Hooten. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and siblings.
Carolyn enjoyed music, dancing, and spending time with her family – those moments brought her the greatest joy. She lived life on her own terms and was known for her strength, compassion, and forgiving spirit. Though her life was not without hardship, she did the absolute best she could with what she had, facing each challenge with determination and grace.
In January 2025, Carolyn was diagnosed with cancer. She faced her diagnosis with courage, maintained a positive outlook, and fought hard in her battle against the disease. Through it all, she remained resilient and hopeful, never allowing her illness to define her.
A woman of deep faith, Caroyln gave her life to God and ensured that her children and grandchildren knew Him as well. She believed it was God’s mercy and grace that carried her through life’s most difficult seasons. She taught her family to never give up, to stay strong and humble, and to never allow others to dictate who they are.
Carolyn Ann Martin will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her unwavering strength, her faith, and the love she poured into her family.
