Winfred Jerome Duffy, born May 2, 1951 in Jackson, GA, was the son of the late William and Opalene Duffy. Winfred was preceded in death by his sister, Lavenia Freeman; brother, Willie Joe Duffie; nephew, Carl Freeman; and niece, Carolyn Freeman.

He started school in Jackson, GA then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1957. Arriving in Cincinnati, he attended Frederick Douglass Elementary and Sawyer Jr. High where he learned his roller skating skills. He attended and graduated from Withrow High School in 1970. After graduating, he joined Calvary Baptist Church on November 28, 1971.

Winfred worked at Duke Energy (formerly known as Cinergy) for 33 plus years. He loved fishing, gardening, cooking, traveling, and occasionally riding his motorcycle. He loved those yearly cookouts with his family and good friends—a most excellent time that was had by all.

He leaves to cherish his memories, 3 sisters, Bettie H. Stanfield, Rosa L. Hollins (Donald M.), and Annie J Whitmire (Author J.); his brother, Morris Duffy; and in-law, Delores Duffie.  He also leaves to cherish his memories, his nieces, Rosa Lewis, Shari Lang, Michelle Duffy, Denice Duffy, Tracy Leonard, Kimberly Hughes, Donna Duffie, Crystal Duffie, Tonya Williams, Sicily Duffy, Elaine Mullins and Barbara Bell; nephews, Willie Freeman, Donald Freeman, Bruce Duffy, Morris Duffy, William Duffy, Terrance Duffy, Donald M. Muhammad and Leo Stanfield, Jr.; and a host of great, great great nieces, nephews and a group of loving relatives, friends and extra special friends, Pam Martin, Catherine Stanford Hatcher and Maureen Pryor.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Walker Funeral Home - Gilbert Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3701 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, 45206.
