IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Fred
Underwood
November 1, 1936 – December 19, 2025
Willie Underwood was born in Eufaula, Alabama on November 01, 1936 to the late Arthur Sr. and Ida Underwood. He was the third of five children. Willie attended Cincinnati Public Schools. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Upon completing active duty, he received an honorable discharge.
Willie loved his family and loved going back down home to visit when he could. He spent lots of time around his siblings in his younger days, visiting his sisters, brothers, and cousins.
He worked for Prestige Bakery for many years and retired. Wille also worked for Thompson Cadillac for many years and retired. He worked very hard to support his family. Willie enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing spades, dancing, music, and sitting on his porch with his wife. He enjoyed living his life his way and talking a lot of smack.
Willie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years Verlene. He continued to call her name practically every day since Verlene left him to go to be with Jesus. I am sure in my heart that they are together right now in heaven. Also preceded in death brother Arthur and Robert, sister Mary, niece Rosalind, nephew Tony, Antonio, Mikale, son Terry Burroughs, brother-in-law William "Dub" Burroughs.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory, his children Yohance (Alicias), Sheila, Julious, Cedric Burroughs, Michelle (Ron) Adams, Cindy Kelley, Wilbur Burroughs, Johnny (Tonya) Burroughs. Special sister Daisey B Jones. Sister-in-law Ruby Underwood. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
