Obituary

"Glory Be To God!!" If you knew Lavelle, you would know he would always say that. Wilie Lavelle Thompson (known as Lavelle) was born on April 24, 1963 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Lillie Thompson and Willie Thompson Sr. Lavelle was a passionate man, sharply dressed, and God fearing man. Lavelle gave his life to Christ at an early age. Lavelle graduated from Hughes High School in 1981 and he was an outstanding student. During Lavelle's school years he created excitement, fun filled adventures, and frustrations to his parents, teachers and friends throughout the year. Upon graduation Lavelle worked multiple jobs until he found a passion in painting and carpentry. Some would say Lavelle was a fasionista. He loved dressing up sharply. Most times when you would see Lavelle, he would be dressed up in a suit or in the latest fashion trend. He would sometimes brag about himself and say, ' You know I Look Good. ' Lavelle was also referred to some as ' Preacher Man.' Lavelle knew the word of God. He had numerous books about God, and the bible. He studied the bible all the way from Genesis to Revelation. Almost every conversation with Lavelle had a scripture reference or a revelation from the Lord above. Many people asked him are you a preacher? He would tell them ' I'm just a servant for the Lord.' He would often quote Psalms 1:1-2. Although Lavelle made some mistakes in his life he always had a relationship with Jesus Christ. At the tender age of 52 Lavelle received his heavenly award on September 30, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillie Thompson, his brother Gary Thompson and his sister Michelle Dunn. Lavelle leaves to cherish his memory; Father and Stepmother Willie & Bobbie Thompson. 3 children, Wayne Mason (Seattle, Washington), twins, Lavella and Lavelle Thompson Jr. 2 grandchildren Cortez Mason and Keemiya Mason. 9 Siblings; (Florence, Alabama) Cheri Williams (Robert), Valerie Thompson, W. Lorenzo Thompson, Rebecca Lawson, Rosalind Evans, Sheba 'Kattie' Yisrael (Jesse), Marian Simpson, Michael Roberts (Columbus, Ohio), Nikcole Davis (Stephen), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and his best friends Robbie Burns, and Thomas Bowman. Lavelle will forever be in our hearts.
