Willie Nell Terry was born on May 27, 1929 to Maggie Terry and Willie Davis in Greensboro, Alabama. Most of her upbringing was with her grandparents Doc, Sr. and Elsie Terry. Willie Nell moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1962 with her husband Sonny. While living in Cincinnati, she became a member of First Baptist Church of West College Hill. She was employed at Emerson North Hospital where she retired as a Supervisor in Housekeeping. Willie Nell became her mother's full time caregiver when her mother moved to Cincinnati until her death in 1977. Willie Nell loved to cook for everybody. She would often cook huge dinners for her family and would cook holiday dinners for the residents of her building, Edward Jones Terrace. She loved sports, especially baseball. At times she would go to see the Cincinnati Reds play. Willie Nell was loved and will be missed by all. Willie Nell was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Terry, her brothers, Rev. Richard S. Terry of Indianapolis, IN, Henry Terry of New York, NY and her beloved niece, Saundra E. Terry of Indianapolis, IN. She is survived by her long time friend and companion Mr. Grover Benjamin; her sister Mattie Lue Smith of Chicago, IL, her nephew Richard M. Terry of Dover, NH; niece, Brenda L. Terry-Mack; great-nieces Kellie M. Terry, Roneka Terry, Ashley Williams and Brittany Mack; great nephew W. Michael Terry, Jason Sledge; great-great nephews Quinton Garmany, Richard Terry, Kegan Terry and Kenye Bingham all of Indianapolis, IN; cousins of the Jones Family of Cincinnati, and long time friends.
