Obituary

Willie James Sturdivant was born on March 16, 1926 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Matthew and Annabelle Robinson-Sturdivant. His son Michael preceded him in death. He was united in holy matrimony to Martha Lee Hughes on February 12, 1948, and to this union seven children were born. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Hills until his health no longer permitted him to attend. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was a Steward 3rd Class in which he received an honorable discharge. He was a sports enthusiast. He was a retired employee of the City of Cincinnati. Willie went to his eternal rest on April 6, 2003. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Martha Lee Sturdivant; his children, Mildred Posey, Vivian Sturdivant, Lavon Triggs (Ronald), Sandra Carter (Norman), Virgil Sturdivant and James Sturdivant; seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, April 11, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Walnut Hills, 2926 Park Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
