Willie B. Rockett was born July 1, 1929 in East St. Louis to the blessed union of Willie and Elaenor Rockett. He departed this life when God called him home on October 2, 2013. Willie is preceded in death by his father, Willie, mother, Elenor, brother, Ray, sisters, Bernice and Mary Alice, and daughter, Marsha Rockett. Mr. Willie gave his life to Christ in 2009 and joined New Prospect Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Damon Lynch III. He had many odd jobs but his passion was carpentry. Willie was a giving man, he loved life, he loved having parties and enjoyed entertaining. Mr. Willie was affectionately named St. Louis or JR Rockett. He served in the United States Army Private 1st Class for three years from January 24, 1946 to February 2, 1949.
