Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved William Henry Murray, Jr., affectionately known as Will or Chuck. Born on November 7, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to William H. Murray, Sr. and Ann B. Murray, he was raised in a loving Christian home, cherished by his devoted grandparents, John and Hattie Murray.

A Life Well Lived

William grew up in Mt. Healthy, Ohio, and graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in 1978. His sense of duty and love for his country led him to proudly serve in the U.S. Army from 1981 to 1984.

On September 26, 1996, he married the love of his life, Auderienne Osborne, and together they built a beautiful family, welcoming three children: Ann, Sandra, and William, III. William was also blessed with a son from a previous relationship, Aaron Jeffrey, whom he loved dearly. His role as a father was one, he cherished deeply, always prioritizing the happiness and protection of his family.

For over 20 years, William served with honor as a Correctional Officer at Lebanon Correctional Institute, where he was deeply respected for his bravery, integrity, and unwavering dedication.

A Man of Faith and Service

William had a strong and unwavering faith. He was a devoted member of Good News Baptist Church, where he grew in his knowledge and love for Jesus Christ. His passion for worship led him to sing in the church choir, lifting his voice in praise and encouragement to all who listened.

Beyond his love for music, William was committed to spreading hope and redemption through the church's prison ministry, where he ministered to those who were incarcerated. His work in the ministry reflected his deep belief in second chances, grace, and the power of God's love to transform lives.

A Man of Many Passions

A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, William's love for his team was as strong as his spirit—"Feel the Steel!" He had a special way of bringing laughter to any room, brightening even the darkest days with his humor and quick wit. His hobbies included RC cars, racetracks, and electric football, passions he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. A gifted cook, he was famous for his legendary "peace roast"—a dish so good it could settle any dispute.

A Loving Reunion in Heaven

On February 19, 2025, William was called home to be with the Lord. He was greeted at heaven's gates by his beloved wife, Auderienne Murray; his cherished son, William Murray, III; and his parents, William H. Murray, Sr. and Ann B. Murray.

Cherishing His Memory

William leaves behind a loving family to honor his legacy: his children: Ann Olamiju (Tola) of Clarksville, TN; Sandra Moore (Micheal) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Aaron Jeffrey of Cincinnati, OH; his cherished grandchildren: Auderienne, Aaliyah, Amillyonna, Micheal, Faith, Christine, Naomi, Jeremiah, Carderius, Aireana, Amarie, Ziairean, Damontae, Anyiah, and Nariah (15 grandchildren in total); his sister, Deborah Brookins (Warren) of Hamilton, OH; his nephew and niece: Wronne Brookins (Maria) of Fairfield, OH and Monique Brookins of Cincinnati, OH; his great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

William's kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Rest in peace, Will. Your love and legacy will endure forever.
