IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Frederick
Hunter, Iii
June 26, 1953 – May 1, 2025
William Frederick Hunter, III (affectionately nicknamed 'Chuckie' by his mom), was born on June 26, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to William Jr. and Elayne Hunter. He departed this life peacefully at home on May 1, 2025
Chuck played youth football on team Jake Sweeny Pontiac, and knothole baseball on team RC Cola (coached by his dad). He was baptized at an early age at First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights. A 1971 graduate of Woodward HS, he played the trombone in the marching band, also at KSU. William retired in 2015 from Duke Energy, where he worked as an electric trouble dispatcher. Prior, he worked as a heavy equipment operating engineer. At the time of his passing, William served at Presence Driven Church.
"My William, loving husband, companion, and friend for 26, soon to be 27 years of marriage. William was a gentle giant who loved the Lord and family. William had a way with words and people very close to his heart. William was my protector and my biggest supporter, William believed in me and helped me to believe that I could achieve any and all things if I would just trust God first and then myself. William loved hard and strong and he wanted the best life for us and other families. William would go out of his way to help make life easier for others. I will celebrate your life always and forever", your loving wife Jacqueline (Jacket)
Cherishing his memory are wife Jacqueline, sons J'Von Smith and Desmund (Sarah) Smith, brothers Richard (Charlene) Hunter Sr., Steven (Karen) Hunter Sr. (brother Kevin Hunter preceded him in death 2008), sisters Billye Ali and Kim Hunter, grandsons Desmund Smith Jr and Leon Smith, nieces Ta'Mika Young, Kimber Sprawl-Crowley, nephew Steven Hunter Jr, great-nephew Justin Tatum Jr, and a host of other relatives and friends.
