William L.Howard was born on June 13, 1943 in Winterville, Georgia, the son of John Howard and Dorene Jones. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 at James Temple Church Of God In Christ, 1116 Lincoln Ave Cincinnati,Ohio (45206) with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. William Lafayette Howard, Sr., passed away on January 28, 2014 at the age of 70. Loffy was born in Wintersville, Georgia on June 13, 1943 to the late John Ed Howard and Dorene Jones. In 1948, Loffy moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with his parents and lived in Walnut Hills on Foraker St. After moving from Foraker to Monfort, he spent most of his adult life in the Walnut Hills area. He truly loved Walnut Hills. Loffy accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He was married to Joan Trimble in 1963 and this union produced one son, Little Loffy. While working at Ford, he received an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Evening and continuing education in 1999. Loffy was well known for his love for God, family, and the community. He also enjoyed studying the Bible, fishing, golfing, mentoring, traveling, listening to jazz music, collecting African art and talking about black history. He was definitely proud of who he was as an African American. Master Lafayette Howard was also a 5th degree black belt and keeper of the Walnut Hills Community Garden. Loffy was preceded in death by his mother Dorene Jones and father, John Ed Howard. He was survived by four sisters, Sara Lackey (Eugene), Antionette Wilder, Patricia Taylor (Albert), and Debra Johnson (Marvin); three children, William L. Howard, II (Amanda), Marcus Everette (Karen), and Teela Fant (Jeremy); three grandchildren: Evan L. Howard, Emil C. Howard, and Marcus Everette Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and of course the community.
