WILLIAM FRANK JOHNSON MAY 4, 1921 - JANUARY 1, 2014 William Frank Johnson was born May 1, 1921, the only child of Otis and Lillie Mae Johnson in Newton, Georgia. 'Frank' as he was known to most, moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1923. Frank joined Tryed Stone Baptist Church in 1932 and was baptized by the late Reverend Buckham. Frank joined Revelation Baptist Church in 1941 under the leadership of the late Pastor P.L. Herod. He was a founding member of the Greater New Light Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Fred L. Shuttlesworth. Frank served as the first president of the Greater New Light Credit Union and served in that capacity for five years. In 1982, he rejoined Revelation Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Prison Ministry Leader, and as a member of the Nursing Home and Senior Ministries. Later Frank became Chairman of the Deacon Board and served in this position until his death. Deacon Johnson was the last living member of the original Revelation Male and Vocal Choruses. He also served as President and Vice President of the Ohio, Indiana Michigan Vocal Singing Convention for more than 40 years. Deacon Johnson was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Cowboys, Lakers and Dodgers and he enjoyed watching tennis. He was a Cement Mason for 42 years, and was a member of the Operative Plasterer's and Cement Masons Union for 60 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 54 years, Georgia, whom he lovingly called Baby, his children; Sandra Parks, Sherri Daniels (James), Kevin Johnson (Debra); grandchildren; Andre', Daimon (Tojuana), Erika, Kevin, Dante', Isaiah; great-grandchildren; Chaz, Joshua, Mikah, Keegan, and Sydni; Goddaughter; Kiyah Brown. He also leaves two sisters-in-law, Cleonie Long and Mattie Patton, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers: Melvin Culbreath, Todd K Ingram, Kevin F. Johnson, Daimon Echols, Kevin J Johnson, Dante Johnson, Isaiah Daniels. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at REVELATION MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1556 John Street, Cincinnati (45214). Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. Interment 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 6 at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Walker Funeral Home, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206).
