William H. Day, Sr., age 76 was born on March 15, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Melvin Akins and Nan Day Bess. He was adopted by Thomas H. Day and Emma Bess Day. William departed this life on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:36 a.m. after a long illness. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his adopted parents; by his loving wife, Margiree of 54 years; his sister, Trinetta Bess; three brothers-in-law, George, Ulysses and Harry Coleman. William grew up in West College Hill, attended North College Hill School; received his GED many years later. He received many commendations and Certificates, including Electronic from Ford Motor Company, where he worked for more than 30 years and retired. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Margiree Coleman Day; his High School Sweetheart on August 25, 1956. To this union was born two sons; William H. Day, Jr., and Thomas M. Day. William joined Allen Chapel AME Church at an early age. He served as Steward faithfully until he united with The New Life Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon until his health failed. He leaves to mourn his passing: his children, William Jr. (Olivia) and Thomas Day and Rhonda. His five grandchildren, Anthony of Los Angeles, California, Mark of Cincinnati, Ohio, Shaun (LaQueta) of Columbus, Ohio, Aaron and Josh of Cincinnati, Ohio; his six great-grandchildren, Antwonette, Tony, Josiah, Ashtyn, Tamiah and Lilyauna; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Plant of Cincinnati, OH, and one brother-in-law, John Coleman (Natalie) of Westchester, OH; two aunts, Rosetta Bess and Betty Rivers; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. William's favorite past times were listening to music (oldies), working on electronics, watching the History Channel and serving the Lord. William Day age 76, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born March16,1938 in Cincinnati,Ohio. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday.
