Carter

William H. Carter "Billy" was born December 16, 1949, to the late Harry and Grace (Brown) Carter in Greenville, South Carolina. He departed this life on July 31, 2018 at Mercy West Hospital.
He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Peace Baptist Church. Billy attended Cincinnati public schools and graduated from taught high school. Later he attended the University of Cincinnati, where he specialized in drafting and taught at various schools. He worked at general electric in the drafting department and was recommended to AVCO. AVCO sent him to Saudi Arabia to work in his specialized field. Billy also worked for the U.S. Postal service in the position of a "dedication mail carrier" where he retired after over 20 years of service. Billy always moonlighted into other jobs which included photography, computers, and his main one of a "DJ" as bc boogie machine for over 40 years. His main hobbies were fishing, making money, and being a great entertainer. He traveled all over the United States. to DJ and keep the dance floor full. Billy was president of the trucking brothers van club and helped serve the community by creating a baseball team in Lincoln Heights, Ohio.
Billy met the love of his life, "Princess Way Jones" and married on May 17, 1969. She was a dedicated wife of nearly 50 years. To this union, they raised four children.
One of his most significant accomplishments was becoming the illustrious potentate of Sinai temple number 59. He was voted the first worshipful master of the year in the state of Ohio in 1999 while he served as the worshipful master of Elijah Lodge number 106 and earning his 32nd degree.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of nearly 50 years princess carter, four children; Laverne Gates, Karen Hill, Calvin Way (Jackie Flaugher), Darryl Jones (Denice) all of Cincinnati, Ohio. A special son, Michael Brown (Pam) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Billy was the second oldest of seven siblings: Betty Wolfork (Vernon (deceased))of Cincinnati, Ohio, Garcia Carter (deceased) (Evelyn) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Brenda Barnett (James) of Houston, Texas, harry l. Carter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lynda Carter of San Antonio, Texas, and Wanda Gibson (Daryl) of Cincinnati, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Billy also helped raise Terrell Hunter, and Latrice Hunter Myles and was a grandfather to their children. Billy will also be cherished by nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives, and friends.
Visitation is from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Peace Baptist Church, 652 Rockdale Avenue, Cincinnati (45229). The Masonic Service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 7:00 pm.
A second visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday. August 7, 2018 at the Highland Baptist Church, 6110 Highland Avenue, Cincinnati, 45216. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 11825 Pippin Road, Colerain Township, Ohio 45231.
