Rev. Walter R. Moore, Jr., passed away peacefully on January 19, 2014. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 27 at James Temple Church of God In Christ 1116 Lincoln Avenue - Cincinnati, OH - 45206 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until hour of service. Walter Roy Moore affectionately known as Mo was born September 10, 1952 to the late Walter Roy Moore & to the late Geneva Williams in Cincinnati Ohio. He departed this life on Sunday, January 19, 2014. Walter was raised in downtown Cincinnati, Evanston and Avondale. He was baptized as a child in the House of God by Bishop Fred C. Scott where he served as a drummer in the church. Walter was full of life and loved to keep his family laughing no matter what the situation. He would always say to be of good cheer. Walter attended South Avondale, Samuel Ach, Sawyer, and Hughes High School. Walter then joined the military and served in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, Walter became a minister for The House of God. Walter loved Yahweh and attended church regularly. Walter then taught courses at Job Corps later opening a music studio at the corner of McMillan and Kemper Lane with his brother Rodney Gibson. In addition to being a minister, Walter was a mentor to other musicians. Walter was also a pillar in the community. He was charitable with donating food and other toiletries to various families. Walter then married Crystal D. Pearl in June of 1990. Walter is survived by his loving wife: Crystal D. Pearl Moore; his aunts: Reetha Miller and Nellie McQueen; eight siblings, Chester Van Moore (Robin), April Lynn Moore, Erik Moore (Regina), Rodney Gibson (Karen), Johnny Joe Stewart (Elaine), Harry Calloway (Bernice), AJ Calloway, Allison Calloway (Dot); ten children: Christine Stigger, Mara Smith, Walter Moore (Brandy), Sherah Biggs (DeWayne), Courtney Pearl (James), Gabriel Moore, Eliyah Moore, Micah Moore, Kaleb Moore, and Raphael Moore; 17 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
