Virginia Ann Hogan passed away on July 3rd, 2026 at the age of 86 years old. Gince was born in Danville, Virginia to Mary Emma & Edward Brandon. Virginia Ann Hogan, known as Gince, was educated in the Danville School System.
Gince had seven siblings and was part of a very loving and close-knit family. It was all for one and one for all. Gince loved and adored her great-grandchildren.
Gince was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hogan. They were married for over 60 years; parents, Mary Emma & Edward Brandon; sisters, Vilma Brandon and Eloise Humble; brothers, Charles, Wallace, Roy, and Nathaniel.
Gince is survived by her faithful and devoted son, Dwayne Hogan (Rebecca); sister, Arlene Dickens; sister-in-law, Loretta (Arrie) Brandon and Ella Brandon; grandchildren, Dwayne E. Hogan Jr. (Bam) and April Briggs (Glen), who called and checked on her daily; and she has eight great-grandchildren as well. Nieces: Barbara, Laurie, Leslie, Marie, Regina, Sheree, Theresa. Nephews: James, Junie, Kevin, Herbie, Nathaniel, and Rodney Jr.
She was a very best friend to Mrs. Ruth Lee Gamble for over 60+ years. Their friendship was unstoppable until the end.
And a host of many family and friends who surely will miss her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love and kindness that Gince shared with everyone she came in contact with.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
She will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery.
