Viola Ringer was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 19, 1937, to William and Maggie Gardenhire.

She was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System.

She had a long career working as a domestic professional and working in the school systems. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and shopping. She was a collector of many precious figurines, dolls, and trinkets which she cherished.

Viola was married February 28th, 1953, to Jesse Ringer (preceded in death) from that union she had seven children.

In 1963 she dedicated her life as one of the Jehovah Witnesses and later became a pioneer in her faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Maggie, grandparents, brother, Wilbur Williams; husband, Jessie Ringer, two granddaughters, DeWanda Ringer and Tiffany Jones; her oldest daughter, Jessie McGoogin and her oldest son, Dwight Ringer.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Thelma Ringer, Gwendolyn Jones (Tyrone), Jennifer Powell and her two sons, Christopher and Jonathan Ringer, fourteen grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and she also leaves to cherish her memory her nieces, nephews and a host of beloved family members and loving friends

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
