Vinnease Delean Matthews was born to Vincent and Rejeana Matthews on January 9, 1971. She was the second born to this union. She departed her earthly life on December 11, 2021. Vinnease attended Cincinnati public schools. Vinnease was a graduate of Aiken High School. Vinnease was blessed with four children, Bobby King, Joseph Mathews, Keisha King, and Caprice Matthews (deceased). Vinnease worked at Cincinnati Public Library in her early years and from there she went on to work at Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years until her passing. She cherished her years at Good Sam Hospital where she met many wonderful friends and co-workers.
Vinnease professed her faith at an early age at Golden Leaf Baptist Church where she was also baptized. Vinnease loved to cook. She loved to collect movies, music and figurines. She loved taking pictures and spending time with her family and friends.
Vinnease was preceded in death by her youngest child, Caprice; maternal grandmother, Jean Nelson and paternal grandmother, Anna Matthews and aunts, Marilyn Porter and Kimberly Porter.
Vinnease leaves to cherish her memory her children, Bobby, Joseph and Keisha; parents, Vincent Matthews and Rejeania Solomon; siblings, Trina (David) Muldrow, Vincent Matthews, Reginald Matthews; granddad, Joseph Matthews; aunts, Molly Porter, Ruby Porter, Debbie Porter, and Sandra (Thomas) Douthit; uncle, Joseph Matthews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. Vinnease was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She really enjoyed spending time with her children and she will truly be missed.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
In keeping with CDC Covid19 Guidelines, we encourage those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask and practice social distancing .
