IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victoria Alberta
(Sims) Jones
March 20, 1949 – February 6, 2023
Victoria Alberta Jones March 20, 1949 - February 6, 2023
Victoria Alberta Jones (Sims) known as Sister Vikki was born on March 20, 1949 in Franklin, Indiana to the late loving parents of Jessie Leona Watt (Sims/Grant) and Thomas Larry Sims. Victoria was raised in Franklin, Indiana and graduated from Franklin Community High School. Later she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended University of Cincinnati. She also attended Moeller Beauty school where she became a Beautician. Vikki was very caring and loved to take care of people. She worked as a Rehabilitation Aide in skilled nursing facilities. She also worked as a direct healthcare provider.
Victoria had a deep love for God, her family, her friends, and her community. Vikki had a heart of gold for all of God's people. Never really heard her say no to anyone who needed help. She always wanted to show God's love by helping and serving others - in any way possible..
Sister Vikki was a faithful member of the Word of Life Ministry Christian Center. She was a founding member for almost 30 years. Sister Vikki was a Sunday school teacher, a greeter and one of the leaders of the Children's Ministry (COW, Children of the Word). She was a team member on Leadership. She volunteered for activities with the Outreach Ministry. She was actively involved in the Women's and the Single's Ministry. Sister Vikki loved to praise and worship. She was known as "Sister Love" in the church.
"Mamma Vikki" was an Awesome woman of God teaching and showing love to all that knew her. She has been an inspiration to us all. When you think of Vikki you remember that beautiful, infectious smile, her kind and giving spirit. Her encouraging words endured people to her. She was loved and will be missed from all those she touched. She will be missed dearly.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Leona Watts and Thomas Larry Sims; her brothers Larry E. Sims, Sr. & Michael E. Sims, Sr., her niece Stephainie Sims, and great-nephew Aaron Lamar Sims.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are: daughters, Tiffany L Walker and Brenda Drew (Arthur); son, Andre' T Jones (Venetta); Grandchildren, Jonathon T Jones, Jordan L Walker, Jeffrey W Kitchen, Aubrey R Jones, Quentin H Jones, Montia Drew, Nataya Booker, and Adriauna Christian; sister Michelle Sims; nieces Shontell Green, LaTrice Nichols, Cimon Corbin and Shamika Goosby; nephews, Michael Sims, Jr, LaShawn Sims, Andrew Sims, Jason Sims, William Goosby, Joshua Burton and Craig Corbin. A host of great grandkids, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives, and genuine friends (all are too many to name).
In the evening hours on Monday, February 6th, 2023, our mother passed. We are assured that heaven is more beautiful now with Victoria reunited with Gran Gran, Larry, Michael, Stephanie and Aaron all together now.
A celebration of Life and Spirit will be held 12 noon on Friday, February 17, 2023, public viewing at 11:00 am at Word of Life Ministry Christian Center, 10555 Hamilton Ave., (45231). Apostle Randall E. Burton and Rev. Jeffrey Kitchen, Sr. officiating. The service will be live streamed.
