IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Veronna (Riley)
Crawford
September 19, 1939 – September 17, 2025
Our beloved Veronna Crawford was born September 19, 1939, to the late James and Elise Riley. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age as a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church. Veronna attended Hughes High School until 1957. Soon after, in that same year, she married Willie Crawford. To this union, sons James and Jerome Crawford were born. A few years later, after divorcing Willie and beginning a new life, she would have two daughters: Julie and Lisa Crawford. She worked at Kenner Products for 25+ years. Upon retiring from there, she worked at Cin-Pac. She also worked for White Castle.
Her pride and joy was her family, especially her children. Being their mother was her top priority. She made sure they had home-cooked meals three times a day and showered them with lots of love. She devoted her entire life to her children! While they were growing up, she would often walk to Findlay Market to shop for necessities. In her later years, she would go to the Flea Market every Saturday. Veronna also truly loved to play cards, go to Bingo, and the Casino.
She was preceded in death by ex-husband, Willie Crawford; daughter, Lisa Crawford; grandson, LaJohn Crawford; siblings Noreen Edwards, Darlene Reese, Rickey Gordon, and Anthony Gordon.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, James, Jerome and Julie Crawford; siblings, James Riley, Linnette Neely, June Anderson (Chester), Jackie Gibson (Gilbert), and Chris Riley. grandchildren, Sharell Clark, Aisha Crawford, Kandra Crawford, Lakieta Crawford (Leonard), Darryl Keyes, Hakeem Crawford; 16 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
