Vernon Michael Vinson was born December 30th, 1984 to Delores Vinson and Vernon Michael Dority. He was raised by his paternal grandparents Henry and Henrietta Dority, his loving aunt Dora Dority and his father Vernon Michael Dority. He attended the Academy of World Languages where he studied Russian as a second language and Withrow High School. His work experience included team supervisor, inventory control, keyboarding, cashiering, and fork lift operation for local companies such as Avon, DHL, Dell Computers and Jack of Diamonds. He had earned a certificate of Business I in July of 2012 and most recently acquiring certification to open his own janitorial service business. His future plans was to obtain his real estate license to help manage family property. In recent years Vernon followed in his paternal grandfather's footsteps and became a Mason as a member of St. John's Lodge No. 3. Vernon was always a very quiet, well mannered helpful person. He was one to always remain calm and could be depended on to see you through any situation. He loved his home, family, friends and his dog Big Gray. He especially loved and cared for his aunt Kitty (Dora) who helped raise him and would do whatever she asked. He always came over at night to turn the light on at her house in efforts to make sure she was safe. He will be sorely missed. Vernon was proceeded in life by his paternal grandparents: Henry/Henrietta Dority, his maternal grandfather William Vinson, his great aunt Chester Fields, and his cousin Kalu Emole Onumah. He is survived by his father Vernon Michael Dority, his mother Dolores Vinson, his maternal grandmother Claretta Vinson, his sisters Tamea Mack, Ogbeyalu Onumah, and Laveda Vinson, his great uncle Ronnie Fields, his aunts and uncles Dora Dority, Zovannah Onumah (Emole Onumah), Saronna Mitchell (Dale Mitchell), Lynnetta Harrison (Travis Harrison), Henry J Dority Jr., Jeriah M Dority (Sylvia Dority), Kenneth B Dority (Cleola Dority), Phillip C Dority (Trish Dority) and a host of relatives. Pallbearers: Jason Maiben, Michael Turner, Dale Mitchell Jr., Austin Mitchell, Daniel Hummons and Patrick Saddler. Honorary Pallbearers: Vernon Dority, Henry Dority, Jeriah Dority, Kenneth Dority, Phillip Dority, Danthen Dority and Kenon Dority. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. McMillan Street , Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. The Rev. Harold Besler will officiate. Interment is in Walnut Hills Cemetery at Cincinnati, Ohio.
