Vernon Colson was born to the late Eugene and Lena Colson on the 26th day of August 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2014. Vernon attended Samuel Ach Jr. High School and Hughes High School. His places of employment included Fisher Body in Norwood as a machinist and Duramed Pharmaceutical. Vernon enjoyed playing pool and considered himself a champion chess player. He enjoyed watching professional sports including boxing, tennis, football and basketball. He was a huge sports enthusiast and played football with the Black Panthers. He was fun loving and never met a stranger. He was well respected by those who knew him. Vernon was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister Mildred Jackson. He leaves fond memories to his loving wife, JoAnn Garrett-Colson; two daughters, Kellie (Eddie) Shelton, and Tracey (Antoine) Piphus; stepson, Michael Hill; one grandson; four step grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond and Gregory (Sharon) Colson; one sister, Denise Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
