Vernon Lee Bennett, Jr. (June) was Born April 22, 1941 to Vernon Lee Bennett Sr. and Louetta Bolden Bennett in Mays Lick, Kentucky. He was the oldest of seven children. He was baptized in 1952 at First Baptist Church Rossmoyne. Vernon Joined the US Navy on June 18, 1958 and was honorable discharged on June 17, 1964. He was hired by Ford Motor Company in 1966 where he retired in 2007 after 41 years of service as a Furnace Operator. He united in Holy Matrimony to Equisterenna Stonewall on October 13, 1971. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and singing old school music with the group called The Chandlers. He enjoyed Doo Whop Music. Vernon loved his dogs Lucky and Kirby. His parents and one sister, Laverne preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 43 years Equisterenna S. Bennett; two sons, Derrick (Marilyn) Mitchell of Tulsa OK and Vernon Harrison of Cincinnati, OH; one daughter, Mary (Jerome) Phillips of Milford, OH; three brothers, James (Kathleen) Bennett, Vinson Bennett, Antonio Bennett; two sisters Antoinette Feagin and Lisa (Doug) Spencer all of Cincinnati, OH; four brothers-in-law, Clark (Patty) Stonewall, Joseph Stonewall, and Sharkley Stonewall of Monticello, KY and Leander (Diane) Stonewall, of Elkhart, IN; four sisters-in-law, Malinda (George) Ewing of Cincinnati, OH, Mauneza (James) Lyons of Lexington, KY, Judda Hooley of Dallas, TX, and Peggy (Lionel) Pressley of Austin, TX.; 20 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
