Vera E. Hodges, age 63, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, in Sycamore Township, Ohio. She was born May 25, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vera Ellen Hodges was born on May 25, 1951 to the late Ellen Humphrey and Ernest Tolin in Cincinnati, Ohio. At an early age she accepted Christ as her lord and Savior. She graduated from Withrow High School and obtained a bachelor's degree from Wilmington College. In July 1973 she was joined in holy matrimony to Fred l. Hodges who preceded her in death on September 5, 2007. To this union was born one son Aaron D. Hodges whom she cherished from birth to her death. Vera's greatest passions were caring for her grandchildren Damius and Carrington. They were her heart and she based her entire life around them. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending quality time with her family. Vera touched many lives during her career as manager at Anthem Blue Cross, Tender Hearts Day Care Center, South Avondale Elementary and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Vera had such a PERSONALITY! She was a woman of character, love, and constantly provided advice to those that knew her. She had an open heart and a kind soul. Celebrating her legacy and cherishing her memories includes her son Aaron Hodges (Cecilia), sisters Margaret Gardenhire (Charles), Wanda Williams and brother Ernest Tolin II; Mother-in-law Gladys Houston; Father-in-law Pugh Young (Martha); Sister-in-Iaws Carolyn Burrell (Moses), Phyllis Watson (Michael), Pamela Barnes, Paula Scott; Brother-in-law Gary Houston (Michelle) and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved family and friends.
