Velma Jackson Gooding went home to be with the Lord November 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father the late Deacon Ulysses Jackson, and mother Evangelist Vera Ellison Jackson also, two siblings Bobby Jackson, and Linda Jackson. Velma was a loving woman of God. She had a heart for helping, encouraging, and nurturing people. She began her walk with Christ at True holiness church where she sung in the youth choir. At a young age when she lost her mother she helped raise her brothers and sisters. Throughout her life she went through many trials, tribulations, and sickness; but yet she stayed faithful, and steadfast in Christ. She would always say, "I don't look like what I've been through". Despite how she felt she still pressed on. At the age of 17 she met the love of her life, her husband Gerry M Gooding. She went on to be co-founder of Walk by Faith Christian Ministries founded in April 2011 where she served as co-pastor, and prophetess. Velma's greatest desire was to see souls won for Christ. She leaves to cherish her memory one son Gerry (Tawana) Gooding, Two beloved daughters, Shenea (Gregory) Cooper, and Sharae Gooding, step son Anthony (Tamara) Bell. Also four brothers Urban Jackson, Robert Jackson, Ulysses (Catrina) Jackson, Jerry Jackson, and one sister Zina (Donald) Simmons, thirteen grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, December 9, 2016, at the Higher Faith Ministries - Forest Park, 11331 Southland Blvd, Forest Park (45240). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 11825 Pippin Road, Colerain Township, Ohio 45231.
