Vaughn McMillan, age 61, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 after a short illness at a hospice facility in Maderia, Ohio. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 30, 1956; the third of five children to Ruth and Warner McMillan. He grew up in Corryville and graduated from Hughes High School. After high school, Vaughn took college classes and training at a technical school in Dayton, Ohio prior to joining the US Army. Following his time in the military, Vaughn was employed as a laborer and worked many different jobs. Vaughn was always willing to give a helping hand whenever he was able. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age at the New Sardis Primitive Baptist Church where his grandfather was the pastor. He sang in the male chorus while at New Sardis. Vaughn lived in Cincinnati and Milford most of his life. He loved traveling and adventuring to new sights. He traveled on numerous family trips and locations such as: Niagara Falls, Smokey Mountains, Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, New York City, etc. Preceding him in death was his father, Warner C. McMillan and a host of other dear family members and loved ones. Vaughn's survivors include his mother, Ruth McMillan of Milford, Ohio; his sister: Shirley (Harvey) Faulkner of Richmond, Indiana; three brothers: Warren (Gail) of Columbus, Ohio, James (Patricia) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Anthony (Alesia) of Columbus, Ohio; uncles: Henry (Melinda) Brown of Weston, Massachusetts, Rev. Floyd Brown , Jimmie Brown and Charles Marshall (Virginia) McMillan, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; aunts: Jessie and Doris McMillan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a good friend, Mark Michaelsen. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at New St. Stephen Community Church, 2315 Park Avenue, Walnut Hills 45206. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford, Ohio.
