Vanessa Jones, age 68, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 5, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is survived by Erma Fay Davis and the late Thomas Davis.

Vanessa was one of seven siblings and was preceded in death by her brothers Larry Davis and Kenny Davis, and her sister Valita Davis. She is survived by her siblings Miles Davis, Valencia Kalle, and Lakisha Davis.

She was educated in the Cincinnati Public School system. Vanessa was united in marriage to Lawrence Jones Jr., and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and family.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters LaTasha Cole, Markita Jones, and Yemaya Jones, and a proud bonus mom to Laurence Jones III, Lachell Jones, Julian Jones, and Love Jones. Vanessa's greatest joys in life were her grandchildren: James Brandon Cole, Deon Jackson, James William Cole Jr., Mariah Adkins, and Emere Deleon. She also cherished her bonus grandchildren Laurence Jones IV, Mauriciano Bishop, LaDarian Moreland, and Davion Moreland, and was blessed to be the great bonus-grandmother of Ma'Keen Bishop.

Vanessa also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and her cherished lifelong friends, Brenda Miller, and Carolyn Hall Caldwell, whose enduring friendship brought joy and comfort throughout the years.

Vanessa was a member of Rose Chapel Community Church, where her kind spirit and quiet strength were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her life was a testimony of grace, resilience, and unwavering faith in God.

Vanessa was known for her radiant smile. Her smile was more than just an expression; it was a reflection of her soul—genuine, generous, and full of warmth. It had a way of lighting up a room, of making you feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Whether she was laughing with friends, comforting someone in pain, or simply sitting quietly with you, that smile was always there, soft and constant, like a sunrise.

Vanessa Jones will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the strength she showed throughout her life.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
