Valencia Teddie Kellam was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 12, 1960 to the proud parents of Geraldine Kellam and Melvin Kenny who both preceded her in death along with of her siblings ,Telvin Maxwell and Melvin Kenny Jr. Teddie fell asleep in Jesus on Sunday, December 13, in the year of our Lord 2020.
Valencia attended Cincinnati Public Schools for her early education. She graduated from Withrow High School. She continued her education at Central State University where she studied Fashion Designing. She also attended the University of Cincinnati and The Cincinnati Job Corps. She worked at Sax Fifth Avenue for several years. Later, she took a position at Federal Express, where she worked for 23 years. Due to serious health problems she ended her long term employment with Federal Express.
Although, she faced health complications she always remained joyous and had a positive outlook on life. Teddie was outgoing, interjected, creative, hilarious, and hard working. The accolades for Teddie are endless.
Teddie leaves to cherish her two sons Rickey Kellam (Shirley), Randel Riley (Siarra), and nineteen grandchildren; Rasiyah, Rickah, Kiniah, Kiara, Shaniah, Rickey, Ri'couri, Daviona, Antenasya, Anthony, Jayden, Shirleigh, Sharihan, Mikail, Jakyra, Sanihya, Unique, Jeffrey, and Dontrell. Teddie was the third oldest of nine siblings, Raymond Kellam (Renita), Toni George (Wallace), Tina Kellam, Charles Kellam (Kathy), Schifona Kenny, Eddie Kenny, and Melvin Kenny lll; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including her life long companion Donnie Meadows.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced. Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
