Tommy Lee Johnson Sr. 83, passed away on February 5th, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Tommy was born to Vester and Cherics Johnson on January 13th, 1943, in Charleston, Mississippi. He joined Mount Zion Baptist Church at an early age where he was baptized. He attended Sherman Creek Elementary then Allen Carver High School. He married Gladys Lake in October 1963. He worked at John Sherman Plantation. They later had two boys and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio where he worked at the University of Cincinnati. Years later, he retired from Kahn's Meat Company.
Tommy is preceded in death by his father Vester Johnson, mother Cherics Duke Johnson, brother JC Johnson, sister Bobbie Jean Bradford and his son Vontrae Terrell Johnson.
Tommy is survived by his wife Gladys Johnson, his oldest son Tommy Lee Johnson Jr., his siblings George Ester Johnson and Gloria Mae Davison, His daughter in law Antionette Johnson, his grandchildren Michelle Lackey, Trevon Johnson and Devontae Johnson. His great grandchildren are Keniyah Lackey, Taylor Waters, Kenneth Burns III, and Calia Johnson. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
He will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
