TO VIEW / PRINT / DOWNLOAD FUNERAL PROGRAM https://www.scribd.com/document/319625680/Thomas-Waugh Mr. Thomas Edward Waugh, was born on October 22, 1945 to parents Mr. John William Waugh, Sr., and Ms. Eva J. Creasy in Huntington, West Virginia. He attended Barnette Elementary, Douglas, and Huntington High School, where he graduated in 1963. Tommy, was raised in Huntington, where he served in the following capacities: as an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, he accepted Christ, and was baptized at the young age of 10, he sang in the church choir, he served as a member of The Boy Scouts of America, he played in the school band, and he was a member on the National Air Force Basketball Team. If you couldn't find him anywhere in Huntington, you might want to look at The Scott Center where he was known to play basketball on a daily basis, and to continue his passion which was in the areas of sports, health and fitness. Upon graduation from High School, Thomas served The United States Air Force from 1965 until 1968, where he worked in San Antonio Texas, Greece, and Turkey. His position was a Sargent, specializing in the Secret Service Department. After the honorable completion of his service in the military, Thomas attended Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia, and The University of Cincinnati. As he continued to transition to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1969, and it was during this time that he found out that his passion was in the concentration of Economics, where he excelled greatly in this field of study, making the Dean's List at University of Cincinnati. This interest in business, lead him to gainful employment in the Human Resources Department at The General Motors Corporation, which was located in Norwood Ohio. As he continued to excel in his job, Thomas was promoted to the level of District Management within The General Motors Corporation, which he covered territories , and dealerships from New Jersey, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana. He would continue his employment with General Motors until his retirement in 2000. As a manager of General Motors, Thomas got to travel the United States, and won extensive vacations to Hawaii, Aruba, Florida, and many more places based upon him meeting, and exceeding special sales quotas. It was here at General Motors, that Thomas met so many wonderful friends, and co-workers, and it peaked his interest in his new sport of choice, which was Golf. Of course, we all know that he was continually working on the perfect swing, only comparable to that of Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino! He, was a sports enthusiast of football, basketball, golf, and tennis, and could always be found working out during all phases of his life, especially at The College Hill Recreation Center. Thomas, had a passion for animals throughout his entire life but, was extremely passionate about his Golden Retriever, named TIGER! Thomas was also, an avid reader, and loved discussing political issues with everyone! He will always be known, and honored most for taking care of his mother Ms. Eva J. Creasy, whom he dearly loved. As he departed this world on Thursday, July 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father John William Waugh, Sr., and Mother Ms. Eva J. Creasy, and brother John William Waugh, Jr.,. He leaves behind aunts, Mary Ann Williams, Pauline Palmer, Claudine Morgan (Of Roanoke, Virginia), a brother Andrew Elliott Waugh, Sr., his sister Ms. Cynthia Ann Creasy, nephews Andrew Elliott Waugh Jr., Christopher Waugh, nieces Kimberly Ann Waugh, Deonte' Marcell Creasy, Ciara Waugh, and Gracie Gary, sister in law Hilda Rose Waugh, and cousins Allen Palmer, Barbara Palmer, Phillip Dean Palmer, and their extended families. There is also a host of friends, co-workers, and neighbors that will all miss him greatly! Visitation is from 10:30 am until 11:30 am, on Friday, July 29, 2016, at the St. Mark AME Zion Church, 9208 Daly Road, Cincinnati (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens , 2145 Compton Road, Mt. Healthy, Ohio 45231.
