Thomas Alvin Powell, affectionately known as "AL" was born on December 2, 1948, to the late Thomas Powell Sr. and Lerline Powell (nee Brooks) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alvin departed this life on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Alvin accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He graduated from Taft High School in 1966. Alvin enjoyed working with his co-workers at the post office.

He was a hard-working man who enjoyed spending time with family & friends. He enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals on TV. Alvin enjoyed watching General Hospital for over 50 years. Alvin loved music and was an excellent chess player.

Alvin was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Darnetta Powell, Gloria Jean Powell, and brother Robert Powell.

He leaves to cherish his memories son Thomas Alvin Wade, six grandchildren: Thomas A. Wade Jr., Dion T. Wade, Chris Marlow, Kenya Marlow, Shanteis Booker, Shanice K. Wade, and great-grandchildren. Brothers Gordon (Johnetta) Powell, Vernon (Doreatha) Powell. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Also, Special Niece Shante Powell and Special friend George Williams.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
