He departed this life on December 10, 2016 at his sister's home (Woodlawn, Ohio). His brother Gerald McCowan preceded him in death (December 27, 2014). He attended Addyston Elementary School (very good in math) and was also in the Boy Scouts. Wayne was married to the late Jessica on July 23, 1988, there were no children in this union. Wayne accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in his life at age of 70 under the leadership of his sister, Pastor J. E. Raglin and was baptized on June 29, 2013. His favored song was "99 And A Half Won't Do" He filled the position of being an Usher and did it well. Wayne was a giver and he would always give generously to the church and especially supported the church programs, anniversaries, picnic and dinner sales – use his truck without charging anything. Being Wayne, he always wanted to know who gave and how much did they gave (LOL). He was employed by Laborers Local 265 from March 1989 and retired in good standing on September 2003 (Union Membership 27 years). Let Wayne tell it; he helped build almost all of the bridges in Cincinnati and the surrounding areas. During his retirement, Wayne did odds jobs to get extra money by using his truck to move and delivery things for his friends and others (just gas money). Wayne was unique in his own way. He was loud and had fun picking-on people: at church, in the stores, the neighbors, the hospitals and Local 265 Union dinners . Most of the time, he didn't talk with you or to you; he questioned you; before you could answer him he would ask you 10 or more questions: "How old are you, where you work, how much money you make, do you like your job, how long have you worked there, are you married, how long you've been married, how many kids do you have, and on and on. He loved the ladies – he proposed to all the young ladies and would tell their parents to call him son-in-law (LOL) because he's going to married their daughter. He had many friends – just can't name them all. Even though Wayne is absent from the body, he's still speaking. The message he left was: My funeral services are be held at Samaria, Repast at VFW Hall in Addyston and that he's paying for the fried chicken for his repast. He always was trying to feed his family and friends. At his house, he would always tell them "Eat all you want but, NO PLATES TO GO" – But he would give-in and let anyone take a plate with them. He just wanted to be the boss. His wish was, to have Thanksgiving Dinner with his family and friends – and he got just what he wanted. 40 or 50 people came (mostly family) and he was very happy. Wayne paid for the Ham and the Bar-BQ Wings for the Thanksgiving Dinner. She leaves to cherish his memories, (1) Sister: Joyce Raglin (2) Brothers: Mark (Gail) McCowan; Greg (Cathy) McCowan. Two special friends from childhood (Henry Smith & Ronald Buchanan). Nieces & great nieces, nephews & great nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
