Obituary

Thomas Ray Bonner, was born in Andalusia, Alabama on August 6, 1954 to the late Johnny Bonner and Mary A. Ellis. Tommy (as everyone called him), grew up in Andalusia, AL, but moved to Cincinnati, Ohio as a young adult until his retirement. Tommy started working at the age of 13 to help his family. Upon moving to Cincinnati, he met Deloris Peppers and together they became parents of Chauna Marie Peppers. He worked as a construction worker for many years. He was a hard worker and a kind hearted person who gave to anyone that needed help without asking for anything in return. Tommy was a loving father and a generous, considerate and very diligent person. He rarely angered nor did he speak a mean word about anyone. Tommy was a prankster who loved to joke and have fun with his family, friends, and co-workers. He loved spending time with his family but didn't have a problem saying, "Alright y'all, I'm leaving now, it was good seeing everyone together!" Tommy was a deacon at the Sound of the Trumpet E.P.C. in Andalusia, AL. Tommy married late in life because he didn't feel the need to rush. One of his favorite sayings, was, "If you are going to do something, you may as well do it right!" and "If you do something make sure you don't regret it later!" He effortlessly helped build a new family. Tommy became ill recently but was at peace with his transition. He is loved by many, forgotten by none! Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Johnny Bonner and Mary A. Ellis; step-father, Charles Ellis; uncles Nathan Butler and Henry Butler. Having so many memories to cherish he leaves, one daughter, Chauna M. Peppers; two granddaughters, Isis Williams and Jania Hood; two brothers, Johnny Bonner (Linda Bonner), Willie Williams (Barbara Williams); four sisters; Brenda Ewing (Tony Ewing), Linda Ellis, Elizabeth Ellis, and Lisa Ellis; aunts Francesca Butler and Martha Ann Carr, nieces, nephews and a host of caring relatives and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the James Temple Church of God In Christ, 1116 Lincoln Avenue, Cincinnati (45206).
