Theresa (Horne) Irvin, was born to the union of Walter Horne Sr. and Francis P (Wynn) Horne on February 26, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the oldest of seven children. She departed this life on March 23, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Theresa attended Cincinnati Public School, where she graduated from Taft High School in 1974. Theresa grew up in Over-The-Rhine. She was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age and knew the Lord.

Theresa married her husband of 49 years Avery A. Irvin on December 31, 1972, from this union 5 children were born. Theresa was a homemaker taking care of her family until she started working at Proctor & Gamble as an Assembler for 21 years.

She traveled with her husband while he was in the military until he was shipped out to Vietnam, at that time she returned home with her family.

Theresa is preceded in death by her husband: Avery A. Irvin Sr., daughter: Lisa B. Irvin; father: Walter L. Horne Sr.; brothers: Walter L. Horne Jr. and Perry Horne; brother-in-law: James Irvin Sr.; mother-in-law: Julia P. Irvin; father-in-law Clarence W.  Irvin; and a host of uncles and aunts.

She leaves to cherish her mother: Francis P. Horne; daughter Leslie S. Irvin; sons: Avery Jr. (Jullian), Terence, and Steven (Rachel); sister: Linda Sims; brothers: Germiah, Melvin(Ramona), David (Theresa), and Matthew; sisters-in-law: Clarissa and Glenda Irvin; brothers-in-law: Clarence Louis, Clarence (Shirley) Irvin, Robert L. Irvin, and a special brother Antonio Brown; aunt: Eleanor Durham; uncles: John and Allen Wynn; (15) grandchildren; (6) great-grandchildren; and a host of other nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced.  Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
