Obituary

Theodosia, THEO meaning Godly, DOSIA meaning gifted… A name you'd never hear twice but after meeting this woman you'd never forget it, never forget her. Theodosia Thompson-Griffith, 52, was born on December 4th 1963 in Cincinnati, OH, to predeceased mother, Jimmie Mae Thompson and living father, Walter Thompson. She was the youngest sister of the Thompson family of Sharon, Bobo, Mona, Bebe, Hattie, and Lisa. She was an alumnus of Woodward High School graduating class of '82, majorette on the field and singer/model/actress on campus. In 1995 she married her best friend, Kevin Donaldthan-Tye Griffith. Going forward as an exceptional homemaker, wife, mother and God-fearing woman. If it was anyone who deserved a Grammy for her winning personality it was "Dosia" always smiling, loving a good laugh, always seeking happiness, blunt but earnest in her beliefs, she could face the toughest of the world and the unjust with a "kindness to kill" or "a purse full of stones" (whichever they preferred), but her beloved children knew her best as a "box of tissues". She simply cared about everyone and wanted the world to change for the better, one matter at a time. She had the gift of personality that most loved and appreciate to this day. The zenith of her priorities lied in caring for her family. She possessed a colossal heart, passionate about taking care of her children and sewing into everyone else's. She took pride in giving unconditional love to her nieces and nephews (even their children), nourishing their minds, educating them, feeding them, loving them, making unforgettable memories, and one day hoped to open her own daycare where the love and direction would just keep on flowing. She enjoyed cooking and maintaining her home, wherever she was. She could whip up a gourmet meal from some leftover turkey, roman noodles, and a variety of vegetables. "Gourmet Bum" is what those meals were deemed as but don't get it confused she could cook some fine dishes with the best of them! In essence "The Little Things" was a phrase she modeled well. Her life was not one shy of adversity but one couldn't tell because her soul ran deep, Theodosia was blessed with one of the wealthiest souls, a soul that is reflected in each being who's life she's affected. Her spirit will be carried on by her three children: McKinley De Mitchell, Destiny Griffith-Taylor, Kevin Ikem Griffith and her grandchildren Alayah Lauryen Taylor, and grandchild on the way. We can be confident that she is conversing with her mother in her immaculate mansion prepared by the Lord our God, for she has returned home February 24th, 2016. Rest easy "Queen", for you are loved. 'Vacation' by Kevin Ikem Griffith The last time I thought of you I remembered a queen...No crown needed, no throne, no gold encrusted seats, no long chain, or no stone filled ring could ever validate this woman. Strong as could be, took on countless battles and fought wars that I could never imagine, that right there proves you're stronger than me. The best part about being where you are is there's no more pain and much more happiness and no more judgment from the know-it-alls who really don't even know the half of it. You can conjure your thoughts and sit in peace...you know, relax, close your eyes to just sit and think, about all the things we have ahead of us. That's a lot of hard work that I wont be able to do without a helping hand from you. So the same way you waited on your son to come home from prison, he'll be waiting on you to come home from your vacation, in the sky with God and all his angels! I hear you every time the wind whistles. Your beloved son -BABY KEVIN IKEM GRIFFITH Visitation is from 11:00 am until noon, on Monday, March 7, 2016, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E.
