With heartfelt sorrow and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we remember and honor Terrie Anna (Smith) Sherman, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Terrie Anna (Smith) Sherman was born on January 10, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Florena (Smith) Johnson and Frank Smith. From the beginning, her life was marked by strength, determination, and a spirit of purpose. She departed this life on August 14, 2026.

Terrie graduated from Hughes High School in June 1973, where she was the president of her graduating class. High school was a vibrant chapter in her life; full of energy, grace, and charm. She brought rhythm to the marching band with her saxophone and cheered her heart out on the sidelines as a cheerleader, lighting up every game with her winning spirit. Her athletic gifts were on full display in track and field, where she broke a shot put record in the state of Ohio. This resulted in her being voted “most athletic woman” in her high school.

Her natural warmth made her a favorite among her friends as they crowned her prom queen, an acknowledgement to the kindness and joy she extended to everyone around her. That same poise carried over into her local modeling opportunities, where her inner radiance shone just as brightly as her outer beauty.

Terrie continued her education at Howard University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in May 1978. While at Howard University, she played the saxophone in the marching band before making history as the university’s second female drum major.

Her commitment to learning and service later led her to the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate on June 10, 1984. Henceforth, she was known as Attorney Terrie Anna Sherman.

On November 18, 1991, Terrie became a licensed attorney and counselor at law - adding to a lifetime of achievement, perseverance, and consistent dedication to helping others.

Terrie mastered two distinct fields of law, practicing both probate and entertainment. She earned the reputation of the absolute go-to expert in the city of Cincinnati for probate law. She is credited with contributing to the writing of Hamilton County Probate rules that the city still follows today. She served as chair of a local entertainment law group, guiding future lawyers on a University of Cincinnati College of Law scholarship committee, and was an active member within the Cincinnati Bar Association. Her work ethic, strength, intelligence, and sense of purpose shine as a beacon and will continue to inspire all those who knew her and know of her. “TerrieAnn” was an absolute powerhouse.

Above all else in her decorated life, she cherished the gift of motherhood. She was deeply proud of the sacred union in which she welcomed her three children into the world, always seeing them as blessings entrusted to her by God. Her life was defined by her unconditional love and unwavering devotion to her family. She was an ever present nurturer, teacher, role model, and enthusiastic mother in the lives of her three children.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Springdale, Ohio 45246.
