IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Talmadge "Coach
Dicky" Arnold Jr
May 28, 1958 – February 8, 2016
Talmadge Arnold, Jr. better known as 'Coach Dicky' was born on May 28,1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Jessie Mae Thompson-Arnold and Talmadge Arnold, Sr. He also had a loving relationship with his step-father Robert L. Jones. Coach Dicky was a community advocate, friend and great example of change for his family and the Avondale Community. During the earlier years of his life, he developed a love for sports and cooking while playing for a semi-pro baseball league and cooking for different country clubs around the Cincinnati area. He did everything with compassion and love giving back to the community and children in need. In1998, he started his own baseball team called the Avondale Indians. Coach Dicky and other members of the community (The Ward Family) would help teach young children the love of baseball. His passion for coaching has made a significant impact on a lot of children. He coached football and basketball with The Cin-City Gators and baseball with The Avondale Indians making sure all of his time was spent helping children. When he wasn't coaching, he was teaching his grandchildren the same morals and goals he instilled in our youth while developing their skills in sports. His main goal was to create a safe and loving environment that promoted structure, guidance and support with a lot of fun! He would encourage the children to stay positive and be successful. His creative way of coaching and getting the job done will be greatly missed in the Avondale Area. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Fontella Neal-Arnold, three sisters, Debra Arnold, Angela Arnold, and Betty Arnold, six brothers, Anthony Arnold, Nathaniel Arnold, Talmadge (Tabby) Arnold, Tammy Arnold, Tony Arnold, and Robert Jones III. He was a proud father to five children, Arlinda Blankumsee (Derrick), Talmadge Arnold lll, Jolonda Arnold, Difono Arnold, and Fonteeno Arnold. A wonderful grandfather to seven grandchildren, Tremone Arnold, Tyler Haughton, Tahj Abdulah, Javin Hill, Yaniah Arnold, Talya Arnold, and Avery Harris Jr. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family and friends.
