Sylvia Lynn Stanton-Taylor was born June 27, 1958 to Giles and Umerline Stanton. She was one of eight siblings. She passed away to external glory August 17, 2020. Sylvia was born in Cincinnati in the Evanston area and finally settling in the Colerain community.

Sylvia was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools attending Parham Elementary, The old Sawyer. From there she graduated from Withrow High School. Sylvia continued her post secondary education at the University of Cincinnati, pursuing her love of Horticulture.

Sylvia was a woman of deep faith and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a long time member of Union Baptist Church, where the honorable Orlando B. Yates is Pastor. She volunteered in many capacities there at Union Baptist. Sylvia was an avid reader. She had a creative mind like no other; she would create something from nothing. She had a wealth of knowledge and could navigate you through any situation. If you were in need she was there to help; she was always your first call.

Her friends, family, and sometimes even strangers can say that Sylvia had touched them in some small way throughout her memorable life with her kindness, graciousness, and generosity. She will be greatly missed. For those that knew and loved her there will be a forever void in the shape of Sylvia. Her life will serve as a beacon for others to serve.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her father Giles Stanton. She leaves to cherish her memory her Mother Umerline Stanton-Clark (Clarence). Her sisters Eleanor, Melody, Kimberly and Paulette. Her Brothers Demetrius (Tracey), Daryl (Tracey), Brooks, David (Ivory), and Timothy. Her children Timothy, Sonia, Jennifer, and Dexter. Also remembered by her grandchildren, Nia, Nina, Alyssa, Austin and Samaya, and her Grand-dog Remmi. The father to her children Keith Taylor along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other family.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Saturday, August 22, 2020, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.

Interment will be at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
