Stephanie Carol Abang, daughter of Haywood and Mattie Warren {nee Radney} was born September 14, 1955, in Hamilton, Ohio. She departed this life on September 28, 2023.
Stephanie accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Glendale, Ohio under the leadership of Reverend Norman L. Townsel and Reverend Richard L. Waldrop.
She led a quiet life, but her heart was captured by James Abang, and they were married November 21, 1987. Stephanie loved to cook and quickly learned to prepare meals from her husband's native country, Cameroon, Africa and would invite family over to taste their delectable foods and delights.
Stephanie graduated from Princeton High School in 1974 where she was involved in ABX sorority and other activities. In 2000 Stephanie graduated from the University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters College with an Associated degree in Business Administration and was employed with Gibson Greeting Cards for 25 years.
She was known and called "Stefie" by family and friends. She was an avid reader who enjoyed watching documentaries, writing poetry, listening to all types of music, taking pictures at all family gatherings, and babysitting for all her nieces and nephews.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her husband James and sister Diane Warren. She leaves her legacy of memories to three sisters: Denise Martin, Evelyn Warren, Deborah Kilgore, One Brother: Shawn Warren. Four Nieces: Tiffany Wilson (LaRon), April Martin, Malikah Denson, and Sommer Peebles. Three Nephews: John Martin, Chris Mason-Warren, and Matthew Kilgore. Four Great Nephews: Khallid Wilson (godson), Darius Ward, Antonio Fuqua Jr, and Charles Jackson. Six Great Nieces: Amirrah Wilson, Naimah Wilson, Kamilah Ward, Tayana Hicks, Mariana Walker, and Kalaya Sullivan, one aunt, Julianne Wilkes and one uncle, Ben Mason, and a host of cousins and friends.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Walker Funeral Home-Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati, 45206.
