Stanley "Stan" Prophett was born on April 15, 1958 in Cincinnati , Ohio, the second child born to the late Sol Prophett and Lille Milton, who both preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his sister Bernice Gartrell and brothers, Walter Lee, Sol Jr, and George (Mitch) Prophett. Stan was educated at Silverton and Washburn Elementary Schools, Bloom Junior High and Hughes High School. Stanley professed Christ at an early age and was baptized in the faith at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member for over 50 years, until his death. He was a member of the Beulah Baptist Junior Choir, the Junior Usher Board, the Junior Male Chorus (the Belle Skinner Singers) and a dedicated member of the Beulah Baptist Male Chorus. Stanley worked many years at Cincinnati Gas & Electric (Duke Energy), before becoming an independent contractor. He perfected his craft as a painter, and was very particular about work. He has left his legacy as an excellent craftsman based on the numerous family and friend's homes he has painted….and he will be sorely missed. Stanley loved his family, his music and he loved to dance. He also liked to play cards and was an avid game boards man (i.e., Chess). And, no one loved old Westerns as much as Stanley. He departed this earth on February 15th, 2018 surrounding by those who loved him best—his family, holding hands and sharing their favorite memories of their beloved, "Stan". Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, his children Brandon (Mary), Katrina, Lillie (Joshua), Stanley Jr. and Shanki Beamon, as well as his adopted children, Benjamin, Lamont, Lonnell, and Rahsheedah (Winston); His brothers, Edward (Rowena), Raymond (Renee), La Donald (Beverly), Raffel (Sonya), Gerald, Jason, all of Cincinnati, Ohio and Dwight (Charlotte) of Washington, DC; his adopted siblings, Craig , Marie, Rachel and Bethany; 11 grandchildren; a host of precious nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and devoted friends. Visitation is from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm, on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 1834 Section Road, Cincinnati (45237). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Dr. John B. Ivey will officiate. Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. Pallbearers: Wesley Prophett, Preston Siler, Kendall L.
