Squire Leroy Nelson was born in Macon Georgia, on December 18, 1944, to the late Squire and Sylvia Nelson. He was a very loving and giving person. He loved all of his grandchildren. Squire loved to go fishing several times a week. He was a conversationalist and lived life to the fullest. Some of his favorite topics, family, old movies/shows, and fishing.

Squire graduated from Withrow High School in 1964. He later went to attend CTC College with a focus on Culinary Arts, where he graduated in 1967.

Leroy as everyone called him, worked at General Motors for nineteen and a half years. He later went on to work at the First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati, doing Custodian for a number of years until he retired. Squire was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, Arthur, Larry, Phillip, Deborah, Janice, and his grandson Kevin Nelson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four children (Candy) Heavenly Jean Nelson, (Red) Patricia Ann Nelson, (lilbit) Stacey Lynne (Kenneth) Rolley, and Avery Allen. Ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, Jerome, Walter. Delores, Carol, and a host of family and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati  (45229).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation,  beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
